Frequently Asked Questions
-
Kohler's reliability
The 105 Kohler generators sold by Edan Group International to PSTN/Ogero in the early 1990's are still operating up to date.
-
Kohler's durability
Admiral Richard Byrd took five KOHLER generators on his 1928 expedition to Antarctica to power the lights on his schooner and the equipment at his headquarters.
Upon his second trip, his crew found the original generators under layers of snow, dried the spark plugs of one unit, flipped the switch—and it worked like new. Given that the South Pole is one of the harshest climates on Earth, with an average temperature of -79 degrees Fahrenheit, this favorite Kohler story speaks volumes for our generators’ durability. -
Difference between Prime and Standby Power Generators
Prime Power is available for an unlimited number of annual operating hours in variable load applications.
The emergency Standby Power rating is applicable for supplying emergency power in variable load applications. Therefore, applying some minor modifications, the same generator could operate, for example, as a 100 KVA Prime Power or 110 KVA Standy Power Generator.
